ForkOwl

A budgeting app and a health app. One tool, two birds.

You know delivery is expensive.
Want to know exactly how expensive?

ForkOwl reads only your food-delivery receipts — DoorDash, Uber Eats, Grubhub, Postmates — and shows what the fees are really taking, what you're really eating, and a premade-meal swap priced against your actual habit. The budget half and the health half, read off the same receipts.

Start with your receipts$12/month, or $115/year.

No inbox to connect, no password — works with any email: Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook. You forward, we never reach in. Read the privacy page first — we would too.

The money half

Your bank statement says “DOORDASH $47.75” and stops there. The receipt knows more: menu prices vs. the stack of service fees, delivery fees, small-order fees, taxes, and tips piled on top — typically 30%+ over menu prices, before the quiet in-app menu markup. ForkOwl opens the receipts, then shows what the same number of meals costs on a premade plan.

The figure half

Nobody logs the 2am pad thai — but the receipt already did. ForkOwl buckets your ordering pattern (pasta ×14 this month, salad ×2) and attaches honest calorie ranges from published research — no fake precision, no lecture. We're not here to judge the pad thai. We're here to price it.

“Wait — do you read my inbox?

No. You forward specific receipts — or set a filter that auto-forwards them — and we never connect to your mailbox. This is the exact Gmail search that filter uses, the same one you'll paste in below. Nothing outside it ever matches:

from:(doordash.com OR eat.grubhub.com OR postmates.com OR uber.com) in:anywhere

You forward; we never reach in.

There's no inbox to connect and no password to hand over. You forward the receipts — or set a filter that forwards them for you — and we never hold a key to your mailbox.

Receipt senders only.

The search you use is hard-coded to the receipt addresses of the four delivery apps, and it checks Spam and Trash so deleted receipts still count. Nothing else matches, so nothing else is ever forwarded.

Parsed on arrival, then discarded.

The moment a receipt lands, we read the numbers off it and throw the email away. What we keep is your running totals — never the raw email, never the individual items.

Nothing to un-share.

Turn off the filter and the flow just stops — there's no mailbox we can keep reading. Ask us and your stored totals are deleted; there was never a receipt archive to scrub.

No passwords. No bank connections. No CSV homework. No scraping. Those all got rejected on purpose — here's why.

Set it up in three steps

Works with any email — Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook, iCloud. About five minutes for your whole history, then it runs itself.

1

Find your receipts

Search your email for the four delivery apps' receipt senders. In Gmail, paste the receipt-only search shown above — Spam and Trash included. Yahoo, Outlook, and iCloud have a search box too; look for the same senders.

2

Forward your history, once

Select all the results, then ⋮ → “Forward as attachment” to your personal ForkOwl address. One email brings your whole back catalog in.

3

Auto-forward the rest

Save that same search as a Gmail filter set to “Forward it to” your address. Every future receipt flows in on its own — set it and forget it.

Your spending report appears on your dashboard, and we email you a weekly summary going forward. Prefer not to forward? Subscribers can also upload saved .eml files, parsed right in the browser.

“$412 of your last $1,300 never touched food.”

That's the kind of sentence you're about to read about yourself.
